Initial Training for Workplace First Aiders

Target audience

Any person who volunteers to administer first aid in the event of accidents at the workplace.

Educational objectives

• Respond effectively to an accident in the establishment or company.
• Apply your skills to promote health and safety at work while respecting internal procedures and protocols.

Prerequisites

• No prerequisites.
• Training organized for a group of 4 to 10 people.

Educational and technical tools

• Computer, video projector, slideshows, photos, videos.
• OHS intervention plan.
• First aid kit for practical exercises.
• Adult, child and infant mannequin.
• Hygiene-related mannequin accessories.
• Automated External Defibrillator (AED), tourniquet, surgical masks and hydroalcoholic gel.

Program

• Theme I : Health and safety at work

  Content :

  • Legal and regulatory framework for SST intervention.
  • The main indicators of health at work.
  • Introduction to the prevention of occupational risks.

• Theme II : Risk prevention

  Content :

  • Basics of prevention.
  • Identify and reduce dangerous situations.
  • Inform designated persons of identified risks.

• Theme III : PREFAS

  Content :

  • Protect: Analysis and implementation of appropriate protection.
  • Examine: Recognize the victim’s vital signs.
  • Alert or alert: Define the elements of the alert message.

• Theme IV : First Aid

  Content :

  • Master first aid procedures for various situations (bleeding, choking, discomfort, burns, etc.).
  • Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

• Theme V : Evaluation and validation

  Content :

  • Certification tests based on the INRS reference framework.
  • Obtaining the SST certificate for suitable learners.

Training validation

SST certificate issued after successful completion of the certification tests and complete completion of the training.
